Law of Attraction: Opening Our Hearts to Joy, Ease & Connection
Is the Law of Attraction Just a Trendy Idea?
We are led to believe that the law of attraction can be as simple as writing oneself a cheque for a million dollars and then magically manifesting it. Unfortunately many people try to make the law of attraction work and dismiss it as trendy idea when they don’t find success so easily. The law of attraction is a little more involved than writing oneself a cheque or throwing some pictures on a vision board. Although these can serve as useful tools to keep one focused on what it is that they desire, the law of attraction isn’t quite so simple.
How Does the Law of Attraction Work? First off, we need to understand that the law of attraction is based on energetic principles. Science has proven that physical matter isn’t solid at all, but rather, the smallest particles have been found to be comprised of energy. Further, we now have the technology to prove that thoughts and feelings have energetic frequencies also. Think of human beings as individual radio broadcast systems sending out and receiving radio frequencies. Our thoughts generate emotion (energy in motion) which become the energetic vibrations we send out into the world. Intuition, on the other hand, is simply our ability to interpret the energetic vibrations being received.
Why Happens When the Law of Attraction Doesn't Work? The truth is that most of us possess very little conscious awareness as to what we’re broadcasting. The reason for this is because our core beliefs, many of which are completely subconscious, emit the strongest vibrations. For example, we can think we are going to be wealthy, visualize it and write ourselves a cheque for a million dollars but unless we really believe it with enough conviction to counter any conflicting beliefs or financial worries, we simply won’t manifest it and if we do, it will be short lived until our core beliefs resurface.
Many people try to implement the power of positive thinking but fail to clear out their negative beliefs first. The effect is similar to driving a car with one foot on the gas and the other on the brake. We eventually get frustrated with the fact that we’re not really making progress or when we do build momentum and make headway, we sometimes find our good fortune blowing up and leaving us back at square one again, more deflated than ever.
Its important to understand that the universe is without bias. Whatever we output is what we get back. Whether we like or dislike the results is of no consequence. The law of attraction says we get what we’ve ordered. So when we’re getting results that we don’t like we can be sure that the universe is reflecting to us what’s lurking in our subconscious minds.
Seeking out our stubborn subconscious beliefs and changing them can be an arduous and time consuming process but there is one way to fast track results and that is to engage our hearts.
The Heart Trumps All When It Comes to the Law of Attraction It might seem unlikely that the law of attraction would have anything to do with the hearts but our hearts are our most powerful tool to attract abundance in all areas of our lives. According to scientist, McCraty from the HeartMath Institute, “The heart generates the largest electromagnetic field in the body. The electrical field as measured in an electrocardiogram (ECG) is about 60 times greater in amplitude than the brain waves recorded in an electroencephalogram (EEG).” The electromagnetic field of the heart radiates from the body and has also been found to affect those in close proximity to us. What’s even more noteworthy is that some studies suggest that the powerful electromagnetic field emanating from our heart also impacts people at a distance when we are focused on them. In other words, the energetic vibrations emitted from our hearts trump any vibrations coming from anywhere else in our bodies.
Engaging the Heart Creates More Flow What’s even better is that when we engage our hearts in the law of attraction, we inevitably reap huge benefits. After all, emotionally our heart represents love, both self love and loving others. Its the centre that allows us to experience joy, beauty and a deep connection to everything around us. It removes us from the fight and struggle in life and allows for ease and flow instead. It changes our perspective to one of positivity, enhances our self esteem, and provides a sense of safety and freedom in the world. It gives the phrase, “Dance like no one is watching,” new meaning.
